October 21 | VOICE with Kelsey Buffington

Class Description

Have you ever wanted to be able to look at a piece and be able to sing it? Well now is your Julie Andrews’s moment! Come join us for a fun introduction into sightsinging! We’ll begin with the Do Re Mi’s of solfege and learn how it can help us with reading music. We’ll also work on some ear training and how to listen to music in a way that both helps you become a better musician and also cultivate a love and appreciation for what you’re singing. For our older participants we’ll do more of a deep dive into how to approach a piece to sight sing and some useful tools and tricks to help you in your next audition or music rehearsal!

meet Kelsey

Kelsey is so thankful to be a part of this amazing Servant Stage community and to teach this class! She has loved performing and has been blessed to be able to work in theaters across the country but also many right here in Lancaster. Some of her local credits include working at Sight and Sound for the last 12 years, Dutch Apple, Prima, Mt Gretna and Servant Stage. As a music education major, her heart for performing extends into teaching and she’s been grateful to teach in her own private studio and for Music Theory and Sight Singing as one of the professors with Sight and Sound conservatory.
