A Tale of Two Cities
Coming to Warwick High School Performing Arts Center
September 12-28
A TALE OF TWO CITIES is a Broadway musical based on Charles Dickens' classic novel set during the tumultuous French Revolution. With music, lyrics, and a book by Jill Santoriello, the musical follows the intertwined lives of Charles Darnay, a French aristocrat, and Sydney Carton, a disillusioned English lawyer, as they navigate love, sacrifice, and redemption. Centered on the powerful themes of justice, class struggle, and personal transformation, A TALE OF TWO CITIES brings the epic story to life with sweeping melodies and a richly emotional narrative.

We believe this is an important historical story that fits well with Servant Stage's goal to present shows that will "inspire, educate, challenge, and entertain." However we want our audiences to be aware that there are mature themes and the show will not be appropriate for all people. If this was a movie it would probably be rated PG or PG-13.
Death/Violence/War: There is no graphic violence, but themes of war, death, beheadings, and murder are part of the story. Multiple deaths and murders are portrayed in a stylized theatrical manner and without blood.
Adult Behavior: There is social drinking and one character drinks to excess. A few brief onstage kisses.
Language: The word "hell" is used in the phrase "cursed straight to hell." The word "damned" is used in the phrase "the damned unforgivable Marquis" and the word "ass" is used in the phrase "you were an ass again."
